Dr. Sumir Sahgal Founder & Chief Medical Officer, Essen Medical

With over two decades of internal medicine experience, Dr. Sahgal has focused on providing quality medical care in a comfortable environment where the patient always comes first. A true innovator, Dr. Sahgal’s practice was one of the initial practices to adopt Electronic Health Records in New York City and was recognized for achieving a high level of patient-centered care by the Mayor and the Health Commissioners of both the city and state.

Prior to starting Essen Medical, Dr. Sahgal worked as Medical Director at Bronx Lebanon Hospital. He currently holds clinical staff privileges at Bronx Lebanon Hospital and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

James Jones Director, Healthcare Information Systems, New Mexico Orthopaedics

As the Director of Healthcare Information Systems, James provides overall governance for all technical operations for the largest independent orthopaedic practice in the southwest. His operational excellence is leveraged for all of New Mexico Orthopaedics’ hardware infrastructure and software development projects, the Quality Assurance and Reporting Department, and the Health Information Management team, as well as the Facilities Management team.

James holds a Bachelor of Science, Information Technology from the University of Phoenix and proudly served eight years in the United States Army as a squad leader, achieving the rank of Sergeant.
