Masergy Cyber Security Chief David Venable Honored Among ‘Most Influential People in Security’

DALLAS – September 3, 2019 – Masergy, a leading provider of managed SD-WAN, cloud communications and managed security solutions, announced today that its VP of Cyber Security David Venable was recognized as one of Security Magazine’s Most Influential People in Security for 2019.

Security Magazine recognized remarkable professionals in enterprise security, the public sector or research positions who positively impact the security industry. Individuals were chosen based upon their leadership qualities and the overall positive impact that their security projects, programs or departments have on their shareholders, organizations, colleagues and the general public.

In addition to being the vice president of cyber security at Masergy, Venable is a former intelligence professional with the U.S. National Security Agency with extensive experience in computer network exploitation, information operations, digital network intelligence and cryptography, which he has taught while serving as adjunct faculty at the National Cryptologic School. Venable has also developed and managed several U.S. national-level projects in support of global anti-terrorism operations in addition to providing security advisory services to Global 500 companies.

Venable currently mentors up-and-coming professionals in the security field by serving both as a mentor and a member of the Leadership Council of the New Security Leaders Program orchestrated by the Warsaw Security Forum. To date, Venable has mentored 64 mid-career, high-potential leaders from the security field.
