Chairman & CEO
Chris MacFarland joined Masergy as Chief Operating Officer in 2008 and was promoted to CEO and Executive Chairman. Prior to joining Masergy, he has served in various senior executive positions at BroadSoft, McLeodUSA, Allegiance Telecom, Verio, OnRamp, CompuNet, and Compu-Tek International.
Chris was selected as a 2017 Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Top CEO, Tech Titans CEO of the Year for 2016 and Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2015 for the Southwest region. Chris currently serves on the board of directors for Compass Data Centers, Linear Labs, and Tech Titans.
Chris is passionate about community service and has championed numerous charitable and outreach programs including as a board member of the Warrior Family Network and International Student Foundation. He attended the University of Texas at Arlington where he majored in Computer Science and Engineering.
Chief Technology Officer
Terry Traina is the Chief Technology Officer and has been with Masergy since 2004. Terry leads various teams including research and development, platform architecture, software engineering, and product development. Terry has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry specializing in building and managing everything from enterprise software-defined networks to routing and switching platforms.
Prior to joining Masergy, Terry has held various technical positions at Chiaro Networks, Allied Riser Communications, and EDS. Terry holds a bachelor’s of science in electrical engineering from the University of Southwestern Louisiana.
VP, Chief Information Officer
Dave Fox joined Masergy as the Chief Information Officer and has been with Comcast Business Technology since 2011. Dave leads all aspects of Masergy’s technology teams including enterprise architecture, software engineering, and technology operations.
Dave has 30+ years of experience in the Information Technology industry working in many verticals including Transportation, Food Processing, Health Care, Student Lending, Banking, and Finance.
VP, Global Alliances/EMEA Channel Sales
William Madison is Vice President of Global Alliances and EMEA Channel Sales for Masergy. In this role, he is responsible for the overall relationship of Masergy’s strategic partnerships, growth of international markets, and new sales routes.
William has over 20+ years of experience and is a channel sales management strategist with a record of achievement and demonstrated success.
Dena Baker Joined Masergy in February of 2020 as Vice President and Controller and was additionally named Senior Vice President of Finance and Accounting in January of 2022. Dena has responsibility for finance, accounting, treasury, and corporate credit. Dena was instrumental in the sale of Masergy to Comcast in October 2021
Prior to Masergy, Dena served as Vice President and Controller at PrimeSource Building Products, the nation’s largest distributor of fasteners and building products which was sold to Platinum Equity in 2015. Previously, Dena worked in a variety of senior financial and accounting positions at Magnus-Shoreline Gas and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Dena holds a bachelor’s in business administration in Accounting from Texas A&M University and is a licensed Certified Public Accounting in the State of Texas.
SVP, Sales/Sales Operations
Since 2007, Terry has been responsible for the overall success of Comcast Business Sales, Sales Operations, and Engineering. He leads the evolution, growth, and strategy for all Comcast Business sales channels.
He has direct responsibility for Comcast Business Managed Service Providers, the Carrier Wholesale Channel, Indirect Channel, Federal Government, and Field Enterprise Sales.
His sales operations responsibilities include contract management, sales effectiveness, sales systems and processes, and customer facing sales engineering for all channels.
Previously, Terry worked at Level 3 Communications, where he served as Vice President of Enterprise Carrier Sales and General Manager. He was responsible for leading sales and retention activities for the Mid-Atlantic Division. Prior to Level 3 Communications, Terry held the role of Vice president at WilTel Communications where he built and led the Enterprise Sales Organization, focused on selling a portfolio of data and IP Services to the Fortune 5000 Enterprise Market Nationwide.
Over the past 30 years, he has held various VP and Executive Level roles at Broadwing Communications and MCI Corporation, in both Market Development and Enterprise Sales.
Terry is a visionary sales leader with an in-depth understanding and experience in leading world class sales organizations, which demonstrate operational excellence and deliver a superior customer experience.
He holds a BA in Economics and English from Rutgers University, and is a graduate of Harvard Business School Executive Education Program in Cable and Telecommunications.
Terry currently resides in Devon, Pennsylvania with his wife Trish and their 5 children.
General Counsel & Secretary
Jeff Walker has served as general counsel and secretary since June 2017. He leads the legal team and is responsible for enterprise legal matters including transactions, litigation, IP, real estate, labor and employment, and corporate governance. Jeff has more than 20 years of experience as in-house counsel in the telecommunications, energy, and retail industries.
Prior to joining Masergy, Jeff served as in-house counsel for Energy Future Holdings Corp., RadioShack Corp., The Bombay Company, Excel Communications, eMeritus Communications, and VarTec Telecom. Jeff holds a bachelors of business administration from Baylor University and a juris doctor from Louisiana State University.
SVP of Global Operations
Craig D’Abreo is the Interim SVP of Global Operations and has been with Masergy since 2005. Craig is responsible for the company’s Network, CyberSecurity & UC Operations, Service Delivery, and Access Management organizations and has held various leadership and strategic roles across all operational functions.
Craig holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and an MBA in Information Security from the University of Dallas. He is a Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP) with over 15+ years of experience in the cybersecurity and telecommunications industry.
SVP, Indirect Channel Sales
Craig Schlagbaum is a results-driven executive leader with a superior track record for achieving revenue and profit goals in hardware, software, hosting, cloud, and communications services businesses. He is an expert in building multi-million dollar indirect channel teams and programs from inception to sales success.
Craig is one of the top data communications and cloud services Channel Executives in Channel Partners Magazine from 07-18 and a Top Channel Executive in CRN from 10-18, as well as a regular public speaker and panelist at numerous industry channel events.
Walt Strubbe serves as Masergy’s SVP of Global Sales which includes the new logo, account management, sales architects, and sales operations teams. Walt has over 20 years of experience in the technology and telecommunications industries in professional services, engineering, and sales leadership roles.
Prior to joining Masergy, Walt led the financial vertical sales team at Tata Communications. Walt previously led outsourcing and hosting sales teams as well as professional services sales teams at Savvis/Centurylink. He started his career at Getronics where he led professional services teams focused on the financial vertical.
Vice President of Business Process Effectiveness and Operations Efficiency
Robert (Rob) Lincavage currently serves as a Vice President Operations Integration in Comcast Business / Masergy. In this role, Rob is responsible for developing operational, automation and technology integration plans focused on customer experience, operational integrity and scale.
In Rob’s most recent role he served as the Vice President, Technology Audit within Comcast Cable, NBCUniversal and Comcast Corporation. As Rob built and oversaw the Technology Center of Excellence, Rob’s focus was to identify technology and security risks associated with Enterprise and Product technology areas across the company.
Rob has more than 30 years of experience in various technical disciplines across telecommunication, aviation, and information systems industries. Prior to his corporate role, Rob served as Vice President of Operations for Comcast Business. During his time in Comcast Business, Rob was integral in building the Comcast Business technical support and deployment strategy for small, medium and enterprise business customers. Prior to joining Comcast, Rob served as Director of Global Operations Services at the Boeing Company. In this role, Rob led a global systems deployment team responsible for implementation of mission critical flight planning, logistics, and aircraft operations components on behalf of various commercial and military operators worldwide.
Rob graduated from the Robert Morris University with a Master of Science degree in Information Systems and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional. Rob has three children and currently resides in Maple Glen, PA with his wife Melissa.
Chief of Staff
David Hamner has served as Masergy’s Chief of Staff since December 2019. In this role, Mr. Hamner operates across the business to enable cross-functional alignment and coordination in day-to-day operations and is responsible for the development and execution of top-level strategic initiatives.
Prior to joining Masergy, Mr. Hamner worked as a management consultant in EY Parthenon’s Strategy & Transactions practice where he advised on strategic, operational, and value creation elements of M&A transactions for some of the world’s largest companies.
Mr. Hamner attended Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business where he graduated with a BBA in Finance and a minor in English.
